How TrustCopilot works, what it means, and how to stay safe.

What TrustCopilot is

TrustCopilot is an independent safety tool that analyzes the text you paste (SMS/WhatsApp/email) and estimates risk based on common scam patterns in India (Bank/UPI/KYC/OTP/APK/remote-access scams).

What TrustCopilot is NOT

  • Not a bank, not RBI/NPCL, and not official customer support.
  • Not a guarantee of fraud or safety — scams change constantly.
  • Not legal/financial/professional advice.

How to interpret results

Low risk
No strong scam patterns detected. Still verify numbers and links if the message asks you to act.
Medium risk
Some suspicious signals. Pause and verify through official channels before doing anything.
High risk
Strong scam patterns detected. Do NOT share OTP/UPI PIN/CVV or install apps. Verify urgently.

Golden rules (always safe)

  • Never share OTP, UPI PIN, CVV, or allow screen sharing.
  • Banks/NPCI do not ask you to approve collect requests to receive a refund.
  • Don’t install “KYC update / bank security / refund” APKs or click unknown short links (bit.ly, tinyurl).
  • Verify support numbers only from your official bank app, the number on your card, or the bank’s official website.

If you already paid / shared info

  • Contact your bank immediately using official numbers (card/app/website).
  • Report cyber fraud: 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in (India).
  • If you installed an APK or gave remote access: disconnect internet, uninstall suspicious apps, change UPI PIN/passwords, and scan your device.
